What I see at work
Now here is a story from Colin's past:
until the age of twenty I was a city boy, born and raised. In 1996 I spent my first summer doing forestry work. I had spent the 8 months prior taking forestry at NAIT in Edmonton. Thinking that I knew what I was doing out in the woods, I took a job in High Level. Let me tell you I had no idea what I was doing.
So after about a month of doing "real" forestry work I was doing pretty good ( in my own mind).
I was doing some surveys of a replanted cutblock ( Yes, Dee I was counting trees). Here I am minding my own business when all of a sudden here comes this massive bird flying over my head. It looked like it had a 10 ft wing span and was gray just like a flying dinosaur. So coming from Edmonton I had no idea what that creature was and it scared the #@% out of me. Later after telling the guys back at camp that I had seen a dinosaur bird and what kind of place had they sent me, the guys told me I had seen a Sandhill Crane. They only have a 6-7 ft wing span and they are a gray color and spend their summers in the northern Alberta area.
